Among one of man’s greatest discoveries is Electrical energy.Civilizations have been created and living standards increased with use of Electrical energy.Electrical energy sources include water and wind,nuclear fission,fossil fuels.Of The different aspects of electric production one of the most interesting is the different methods by which electricity is created.These method are much different than our diy solar power and homemade power plant solutions that we may normally utilize.

Usually the way that electricity is produced is by moving huge turbines that are pushed by using these different methods. In the example of fossil fuels, a vapor is generated by heating a huge amount of water in furnaces that push these turbines in the electricity production stage.The water is heated through a process of burning either petroleum,natural gas,or coal.These fossil fuel sources usually pollute the atmosphere at a great rate and because of this it is important to use alternative methods.

By water: You must have heard how dams are constructed to produce electricity. A popular method to produce electricity, a water dams serves two purposes: restricting water bodies and producing electricity.Water dams use the river water to move turbines, helping them produce electricity. Electricity generated this way helps control air pollution; however, this method of electricity production adversely affects the ecosystem in the water bodies.

Water accounts for 90 percent of the world’s electricity generated through renewable resources.By wind: Electricity is produced when wind energy is converted to electrical energy. Wind mills or wind turbines are used to churn up enormous amounts of wind energy which is then converted into electrical energy.

The latest in wind energy advancement tells us that wind energy is helping create portable cell phone chargers.By nuclear fission: Yes, nuclear fission does not only make atom bombs, but also helps produce electricity.Nuclear fission causes a chain reaction where the element Uranium is bombarded by neutrons causing it to split.Every time a Uranium nucleus is split, more neutrons are released, causing more splits in the already split Uranium nuclei. The resultant chain reaction generates a lot of heat which is used to heat water the vapor of which eventually moves turbines to create electricity.

By using human waste to generate electricity bio-waste is produced through technological advancements by breaking it down into bio-gas which is being used in India as a source to generate electricity.There are many advancements in electricity and electrical energy including on the domestic front such as Homemade power plant solutions that are creating a future for energy independence.

Diy solar panels are a top subject with many homeowners and when thinking about installing them outside a regular household
people get excited about saving money in the future and helping the earth by using power from the sun.It’s kind of shocking

Most people can’t afford to shell out ten thousand or so to run their house on the diy panels and you may fall into this catagory.If you do,then go the cheap and affordable way which is a little at a time.You could run a stereo around one hundred hours and a laptop for somewhere around fourty hours by purchasing around six hundred dollars worth of diy panels in a kit.You can use these panels to run just about anything ,for example this 6 hundred dollar kit would power compact- fluorescent twelve watt light bulb for around 8 hours.

This six hundred dollar kit would include everything you need to get set up.The Kit includes,the pv module,the charge controller and the sealed batteries also the sine wave inverter.After this you will still have money left over for battery cables,for hardware and mounting ,also wire and other small items .You can add more of these kits in the future to eventually get to the point of being 100% energy independant.I will be doing a review on these kits and will post my link to the review here when I’m finished so keep your eye out for it!!

Solar power is probably the cleanest and most viable form of renewable energy talked about in the solarnews community. The advantages of solar energy beats any other form of energy as it depletes the natural resources of our planet and pollutes the environment. Oil and coal is not renewable. Once it is used, it is gone, and besides it takes a different form which pollutes the environment. Solar energy uses the power of the sun which traps during the day and supplies energy during the day through storage batteries in the nights. As long as we have the sun, we will have solar energy.

Towards a Greener Earth

One of the biggest advantages of solar energy is that it is non-polluting. It is also silent. The solar cells extract the energy from the sun without a beep. Compare this with noise polluting coal plants and one can figure out the benefit of shifting to solar energy. The solar cells have no moving parts so maintenance is almost negligible and the cells have a long lifetime.

The initial investment on solar panels and the installation of the system is at present expensive. But in the long run, advantages of solar energy generating systems pay for itself in terms of reduced energy bills. As the solar panels have a long life, once the investments costs are met, there is no more drain only gain. Once the system is installed and functioning well, you are free from blackouts and power failures and no more at the mercy of power generating companies.

The advantages of solar energy make up for the only possible disadvantage, that is, the initial cost. Solar energy at present costs twice as much as traditional sources of power generation which is oil and coal. But as natural sources of oil and coal deplete, the cost of producing energy from such sources will rise. The other disadvantage is that it is only possible to generate electricity during the daytime. But with good battery backups or provincial grid system the distribution and flow of electricity is maintained to an optimum level.

The advantages of solar energy generation from homes make it people-friendly. You don’t need massive power plants with expensive machinery to generate electricity. The electricity required can be generated at home, occupying minimum space and without any noise or disturbance to people living in the area. The installation of the system is also very easy and affordable to maintain.
